I’m Maria, Body Positive Personal Trainer – So no matter what shape you’re in, whether you’ve worked out for two weeks or twenty years… I’ll get you going. You deserve to be happy, healthy and strong. And because it means so much to me that my clients keep coming back, this is how we’ll do it: I want you to enjoy your training session with me every time- so my programs are goal orientated but also tailored just for you. We can start at whatever level works best for you- either those new to fitness or fit exercisers looking to take their workout game up a notch. No judgements here! A NEWFOUND Purpose

I didn’t just become a Personal Trainer because it was easy or because it seemed like a good idea at the time – I became one because of my passion for helping people. What started as a simple business decision, quickly turned into something much bigger than anything I could have ever imagined. In order to fully serve others and make sure that they’re getting what they need, I had to first understand who they are. Understanding this concept helped me see why there needs to be changed in the industry and resulted in all sorts of small changes in how I go about my work – including acquiring enough mental health training to equip myself with some tools necessary for working with clients who suffer from conditions such as depression or anxiety.

There’s been a real revolution going on in the fitness industry for quite some time now, and it’s about time someone had enough of the status quo and wanted to do something about it! What inspired me was when I found out how many women were being left behind because they either didn’t know how to get started or they weren’t willing to put themselves through what they thought would be painful workouts. As much as I enjoyed setting new goals and pushing my clients every day towards weight loss. I also wanted them to see results without feeling like they were just counting calories or running miles upon miles just to lose weight! That’s why I decided it was time to make an even bigger change – embracing everything holistic both inside and outside the gym. This means I started exploring a more holistic approach to personal training, teaching others how they can thrive when they choose to nourish themselves while doing what they love and things changed. Whether it be through Body Positive Personal Trainer, Intuitive Eating-based nutrition or Mental Health first aid courses; these new skills added extra dimensions to who I am and what I offer clients. In addition to bringing you comprehensive exercise, nutritional information and resources based on science and medically proven research. I have the personal experience to guide and support you as your work reach your Health Goals and Reclaim Your Life!

Exercise changed my life in wonderful ways, and now, I’m on a path to help others! I want to help you to reclaim your life, to love yourself and feel confident with your body.

My Story…

 Hitting Rock Bottom

Years later, in my twenties, living with my boyfriend we used to have arguments every day, I was super stressed plus working full-time, I used to have food as an escape – chips, ice cream, and cookies, and in my exhaustion, I relied on pills, sodas, energy drinks, and sugary coffees to keep going. 

I found myself almost overweight and HATING my body. But the was worse, I felt exhausted, sick, and moody all the time. I never had any energy, my body hurt, my digestion was a mess, and I lived with a never-ending headache. I wasn’t happy with my body and all the symptoms I faced every day were keeping me from being the person I dreamed of being! I wasn’t emotionally present at all.

I wish I had known then what I know now, I would have been kind with my body, made better food choices and asked for help. I didn’t know that all the salt and sugar in my diet was a contributor to the water retention that made my belly appear larger than it was.😒🧁🍫

I Made Peace With My Body – Learning everything I could on how to end emotional eating, banish negative thoughts, and celebrate what my body can do rather than criticize what it looks like! Lose Weight Without Dieting Restrictions – Saying goodbye to guilt trips around food! I could finally enjoy food without feeling guilty or out of control. Losing weight just got much easy!

I realised that fundamental work had to be done in three main areas: physical activity & exercise; mental health and diet and nutrition. Together, these pillars represent what holistically would mean for someone like you and me who lives life from top to bottom, happy and whole-bodied.

Now I’m sharing Body Positivity and Fitness tips from my own experiences along with some techniques for moving forward when you’re plagued by negativity about yourself. When we are faced with even just one of these challenges, it can feel like we’re all alone. But when we find someone else who has been down the same road before us, they can guide us towards a brighter future!

You Are Not Alone

– You are not alone on this journey. In fact, most people feel this way at some point! Body Positive Tips – I’ve been on this journey too – from feeling betrayed by my body to finally loving it as a gift – and I’d love to share some tips that helped me along the way. Do It Together – There’s something about supporting someone else going through a tough time – it helps both of us!

The First Step – For many of us, the first step to feeling better about our bodies is to stop beating ourselves up. I’m here to remind you that you are not alone.
The Second Step – Next, we need to take a look at what’s really going on in our lives. Is it the food? Is it the stress?
The Third Step – The final step is learning to love your body. Your body is amazing, and when you appreciate it for what it does for you, you’ll be amazed at how much happier you feel.
